Holy Family Primary, Emerton received its best result ever at the recent Diocese of Parramatta Gymnastic Championships, walking away as the best performing team of 10 in the blue division.
Holy Family’s team consisted of students from Year 2 to 6 and included Chelsea, Shayleigh, Tahlia, Alexis, Matilda, Rachelle, Brodie, Keannah, Chloe, Abbi and Mary.
Physical Education Teacher Lauren Wheeler said the gymnastics competition has been running for 30 years in the Parramatta Diocese. This is the eighth year that Holy Family has participated in the competition.
“All students completed four apparatuses with static floor being our best. The majority of students received gold status!’’ Miss Wheeler said.
“Chelsea, the youngest of the team came away with a gold in the mini tramp and third place in blue division overall. Brodie placed in all four apparatuses with two thirds, a second and a first. He was also the winning champion boy in the blue division,’’ Miss Wheeler said.
“Overall as a team, Holy Family Emerton won the best performing team of 10 in the blue division. This is our best result ever!’’ Miss Wheeler said.
